I am extremely happy with my Trek Silque. I was amazed at how lightweight and fast it is compared to my prior road bike (Giant). During the "test drive" I couldn't stop smiling! I purchased the bike for riding paved trails with varying levels of hills and was very happy in how the Silque made climbing the bigger hills a lot easier and shifting is so smooth. I've purchased an indoor trainer so I can continue riding during Iowa winters and the Silque was very easy to set up on the trainer. The only "con" is the seat as it is very hard even with padded shorts.
I am new to road biking, and although I didn't want to spend quite this much, I wanted a good-to-GREAT product. I love it! It is as smooth a ride as you'll find in a moderately priced bike. Shifts nicely and handles well. I didn't like the seat (crotch fire starter!) and replaced it. This is a WONDERFUL bike, and I've been so happy with my choice.
