Good Product

Pros:
Easy to Install, Stable
Cons:
Best Uses:
Mountain Bikes, Road Bikes, Small Cars
Just added to a recent trailer hitch I put on PT Cruiser to carry a bike rack, it helps to stabilize quite well. As I had to use an extension in my 1.25 hitch up to 2 inch it made the connection long so it helps keep that extra length in control...

love the Rack

Love the rack but don't over tighten the hitch bolt, otherwise the plastic carriage insert that holds the threaded nut will break forcing you to buy a new insert.

Great Support

I have had my hitch mount bike rack for about 9 years. When I stripped the threads on the hitch I figured I was in trouble but had built the rack to enable inexpensive repair. Great design.

Improved product

Pros:
Cons:
Best Uses:
I have a 3-bike Saris rack and had it about 6 months when one day the bolt would not come out of the hitch allowing me to remove the rack from my receiver hitch. I ended up having to hacksaw off both ends of the bolt and with a lot of work got the bolt out. What had happened is that the plastic piece on the hitch tite had broken off and the nut was just turning freely inside not allowing me to remove the bolt. This replacement product now uses a square (versus hex) nut that fits tightly inside the space on the hitch hence it should not end up turning if it gets worn a bit or the plastic holder gives way. Better design overall. Hopefully this one will hold up to the constant on/off that this rack experiences.

Out with hex in with the square.

Pros:
Cons:
Best Uses:
Square nut is a design improvement over my original hex nut. The product picture showed a hex nut when I order but I am glad they shipped the square nut. It is a better design fit for this application. Good Job!!!

Not a well-thought out design

Pros:
Cons:
Best Uses:
I had to replace this part because the plastic sleeve that houses the nut will not hold the nut in place well under pressure. When tightening the bolt, the plastic housing will allow the nut to turn and possibly break the plastic housing (which is what happened on mine). The force was not excessive, just enough to hold it snug. The design is not a good one. New part came quickly, easy to replace. Just should not have had to do so.
